Sue qualified as a Registered Nurse in 1978 in New Jersey, USA. She received her equivalent qualification in the UK in 1981. She specialised in Critical Care nursing for 10 years with an interest in Respiratory Failure and mechanical ventilation. In 1988 Sue began a career in medical sales, working for several medical device companies in areas related to critical care as a Sales Representative, Product Specialist and Clinical Specialist/Advisor until 2004.

Since moving to Devon in 2004 Sue has completed a Return to Practice Nursing course at Derriford Hospital, worked for Headway Devon (brain injury charity) and worked clinically in Neuro rehabilitation with brain injured clients.
